An Italian Violin, probably Central Italy, circa 1865

Now available at the office is this newly set-up Italian violin, made by an anonymous maker probably operating in Central Italy, dating from around 1865. As the popularity of the violin increased with players and composers, so did demand for instruments, and therefore we have many very nicely crafted examples such as this by makers whose identities have slipped through the cracks over the centuries. While this has no effect on their often excellent tone, the anonymous status of these makers puts instruments like this within the reach of players who would otherwise potentially struggle to obtain an instrument with a pedigree and provenance attached.

Delivering a clean, clear, and resonant sound with an immediate response, this violin would be an ideal instrument for an advanced or very promising player. Do contact for further details or to arrange to try.
