A Nickel-Mounted French Violin Bow by Emile Ouchard, stamped 'Pillot'. Sold with the certificate of authenticity from Jean Francois Raffin, Paris.
Available for sale now, this a very good French violin bow, a nice and characteristic example of the work of Emile François Ouchard (Ouchard père), dating from around 1900. Apart from its playing qualities, good French bows such as this have consistently appreciated in value, and, along with stringed instruments by known makers, represent one of the safest financial investments. This example is stamped 'Pillot' (as is the case with many French bows from various makers of the period who were contracted to manufacture for different firms), and is sold with the certificate of authenticity from J.F. Raffin, Paris.
