A Good Modern Violin by Dan Hurdugaci, Transylvania, 2024

Finished at his workshop very recently, this powerful violin by well-respected contemporary maker Dan Hurdugaci already sounds incredibly open for such a new instrument, and it is an incredibly comfortable instrument to play, being very easy to shift positions on the fingerboard. It's currently fitted with Larsen strings, and I feel they work wonderfully in this instance, in terms of complementing the powerful tone with a solid depth and colour. It's also extremely well-priced, so viewing highly recommended.
