The photograph doesn't do the wood of this cello justice, but the flame is wonderful, the back exhibiting quite a tight grain ascending evenly from the centre joint, a really attractive example of contemporary making, set up with Thomastik Infeld Dominant strings, and already producing a big and very open tone and direct response.
