A Good 3/4 Size Violin, Czech or Eastern European, circa 1910
A nice 3/4 size violin, likely crafted by one of the many Czech artisans from around the turn of the 20th century onwards for the domestic and export markets which had developed during the later years of the 19th century. Unlike similar French and German instruments, these violins are often characterised by much ornamental inlay of varying quality, and the work evident in this instance is very skilfully executed. These instruments offer a near-identical playing experience and quality of sound to their French and German counterparts, but are generally much more competitively priced.
