A German Violin, Markneukirchen, circa 1910
Similar to the Neuner & Hornsteiner violin I also posted today (also available), this is one of a large number of instruments made in various workshops in Germany and France from approximately the 1860s onwards. These instruments are in good supply due to the volume of their construction, however there is often a huge disparity in both making and sound quality. Therefore, though the price doesn't fluctuate dramatically, the quality can immensely, and this instrument is on the higher end of the quality spectrum, both skilfully constructed and offering a more complex array of tonal colours than a great number of its competitors.
