A Fine French Violin by Paul Bailly, Paris, circa 1890
I am really pleased to be able to offer this very fine French violin by Paul Bailly, Paris, circa 1890. Born in Mirecourt in 1844, Bailly notably worked for Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume, before eventually establishing his own atelier in Paris after a number of years travelling to the U.K. and U.S.A. An extremely skilled interpreter of a variety of patterns, his work is highly prized, and this violin with its clarity of tone and varied colours, as well as its beautiful craftsmanship and wonderful one-piece birds eye maple back, is no exception. It would suit a professional player or gifted enthusiast, and is available to try now.
A truly excellent violin for a serious player, and at an extremely competitive price.
